Ickleford occurs as big village placed on the northern fringe of Hitchin in North Hertfordshire in England. It lies on the west bank of the River Hiz. St Katharine's church, placed amid cedar trees, has the 12th century Norman nave & blocked northwards threshold by having attractively carven zig arches, & the to the south aisle and chapel added by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1859. A east window has a bit of ticket stained glass of 1860. A Icknield Way, an ancient pathway passes through the village.
